SADARA & SATORP INAUGURATION

M2L collaborated in the event in Jubail in Saudi Arabia, in early December 2016, using 100 motorised units and a Grand MA 2 Light lighting mixer as materials. The lighting show was programmed in TIMECODE with video synchronisation of lights and robots. The Saudi monarch Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the petrochemical complex of Sadara, a $20 billion petrochemical centre. This was the result of a joint venture between Dow, Saudi Aramco and the Satorp refinery (operated collaboratively between Saudi Aramco and Total), which is capable of processing 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This is then turned into low-sulphur petrol, diesel and aviation fuel. Both structures were the first concrete results of the Saudi Vision 2030 industrial plan, launched by the Saudi government to transform the country into an industrial power and stimulate economic growth, create jobs and foster foreign investment.
